What is Broadband?
'Broadband' is a generic term that refers to high speed Internet connection technology.
Some broadband technologies are capable of transferring data 20 to 40 times faster than
conventional modem based connections.
ADSL (Asynchronous Digital Subscriber Line), cable and Microwave are examples of broadband technology. The Red Centre corporate grade broadband service uses ADSL technology.
The Advantage of ADSLADSL is a remarkable technology. It enables high speed Internet data to be delivered over ordinary telephone lines. It is even possible to use the same telephone line to make (or receive) telephone calls while you are browsing the web or downloading email! With Red Centre's corporate grade ADSL you will spend less time waiting for web sites or email to download. You will be able to attend web based conferences and meetings. You will even be able to "teleconference" with your interstate staff and customers. Commerical Grade?
Red Centre only offers a "Commerical Grade" ADSL product. One of the main advantages of this product over the alternatives is the improved "contention ratio". The ADSL Contention Ratio is the ratio of the number of ADSL connections to the bandwidth available at the local connection point (telephone exchange). For domestic grade ADSL connections, this may be as high as 20:1. Under conditions of heavy network load a contention ratio of 20:1 may result in individual connection performance levels falling below those of a 64K ISDN link. Red Centre commercial grade ADSL contention ratios are maintained at 10:1. This ensures that commercial customers are provided with a more stable and reliable service. Red Centre ADSL will assist you to structure a more efficient and profitable business. Don't place your customers on hold - ask us how to deliver your business on demand.
